Quiet quitting

You have most probably heard this term before, but just in case you haven’t … Quiet quitting in the workplace refers to the act when an employee ‘checks out’ by putting in the minimum amount of effort to keep their job, but not going the extra mile for their employer. This approach often results in minimal disruption to the workplace and may indicate dissatisfaction or a desire to leave without causing a stir.

Resenteeism

Resenteeism is the new buzzword for ‘quiet quitting’, it means staying in a job where you are unhappy due to concerns of job security, the cost of living, or a lack of preferable alternatives, and starting to actively resent it and make everyone aware of that fact! This resentment can extend to an employee’s workplace, the organization as a whole, and even the people they work with.

Chronoworking

Hybrid working has brought a new level of flexibility to where we work. Now a new trend, chronoworking, promises to break through the rigidity of the traditional nine-to-five. The term chronoworking describes the act of an employee adapting their working day to their natural rhythm, ie starting at 7 am for early risers, or 7 pm for those night owls!

Scattered Meetings

Scattered meetings typically refer to a situation where meetings are scheduled sporadically throughout the day or week, without a cohesive or well-organized structure. These meetings might occur at various times and often lack a clear purpose or agenda, leading to a sense of disorganization and inefficiency in communication and decision-making processes.

Wellness Wednesday

Originally just a social media hashtag promoting healthy living, #WellnessWednesday has evolved into a global self-care phenomenon. It’s not just about encouraging personal well-being anymore; it’s about integrating wellness into all aspects of life, including the workplace. Whether it’s implementing policies like no meetings on Wednesdays, shorter workdays, providing free nutritious lunches, or offering yoga classes, Wellness Wednesday is a reminder for employees to prioritize their well-being midweek.
