9 Weird Ways to Get Over a Creative Block
How to keep your creativity spicy on days your brain feels like an empty fridge
Art Stuff 11 Feb 2020

1.  Leave your desk. Get out of your office for awhile and do something wild like draw with crayons or grab a matcha latte next door.

2. Assess yourself wholly, not only the creative part. Try to find out the root problem of what’s blocking you. Your partner, financial issues, family problems?

3. Quit. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is give up when there is nothing that can be fixed.

4. Do something completely unrelated to your regular work routine. If you’re a writer, try your hands on pottery. If a photographer, draw. You get the idea.

5. Move around. Kinesthetic learning has been proven to work setting free creative juices.

6. Laugh out loud. No, we don’t mean send a LOL emoji to your coworker. We mean to literally laugh. Incredibly cool stuff happens to you physiologically and mentally when you do this. In particular, laughing relieves stress.

7. Go for a photo walk around the block. Just take pictures of random things you come across on the street and look at what you find afterwards.

8. Keep away from technology for a day. That’s right. Get off the Internet.

9. Dance in front of a mirror. It keep your blood flowing and hopefully your creativity too.
