Aviation only produces 3 % of total CO2 emissions but traffic grows at 8% per year. Air travel is making up a large proportion of the carbon footprint of many art organisations. To fly or not to fly, that is the question!
1.Become a member of the Aerocene community
Initiated by artist Tomás Saraceno Aerocene in their own words “Aerocene is an era-in-the-making, a community, a non-profit foundation. As a movement for eco-social justice, adrift on air, floating free from fossil fuels, lithium or hydrogen, Aerocene moves us towards an ethical re-alliance with the Earth and its cosmic web(s) of life. Rooted in slower activism and weather-dependent interdependency, Aerocene stands as a platform for climate justice, an eco-social energy transition, human and more-than-human rights and alternative modes of knowing and sensing.”
Join and contribute to this new way of transportation, free from fossil fuels, lithium or hydrogen…(only with the sun, not even solar panels!)

2.Trust GCC dictates
Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC) is an international community of arts galleries and cultural organisations working to reduce their CO2e emissions by a minimum of 50% by 2030.

3.Dance like Jérôme Bel
Internationally acclaimed French choreographer Jerome Bel made a big announcement in 2019: “For ecological reasons, Jérôme Bel company doesn’t travel by plane anymore”. Five years after this decision, his choreographies are still programmed all over the world…performed by local dancers who rehearse by zoom!
4.Toast to air freight free Champagne
10 years ago, Maison Ruinart made a huge decision : no bottle should fly anymore. Planes were abandoned for both commercial deliveries and raw materials supply.
5.Train is the new Private jet
