What does your ideal working outfit look like?
When I run about town for meetings, I usually wear jeans and a nice shirt with flats, paired up with a jacket or a coat and a big bag where I carry thousands of things.
What’s best: heels or flats? Which brand or style?
I love classic flats from Chanel for every day missions, but also love slipping into my heels in the evenings.
What’s your favorite art-related blog or app?
I love @art_for_breakfast Instagram account and www.charcoalalley.com
What was the last thing you bought and loved?
I got beautiful Oscar de la Renta heels for an event I was going to. I wish I could wear them every day, but when I am constantly running all over town it would be a mission, so they are back in the cupboard for a while.
What is/are your personal style signifier(s)/identifier(s)?
A lot of my clothes, bags and shoes are covered with paints, because I get inpatient to paint when I get to my studio. Sometimes I even start working in my nice clothes. I eventually started to love these ” signature” marks and I now think of them as a unique touch to my style.
What’s your necessary extravagance?
A Chanel bag with any outfit.
Three things/products you always need to have in your purse?
Phone, driving license, credit card.
What’s your ultimate beauty secret after long working hours?
Lots of water and fresh green juices. I don’t believe in creams too much, but I swear by a healthy diet and constant hydration.
What’s/are your favourite work(s) of art?
Too many to mention. I love Lesha Kurbatov and Gabriel Moreno’s illustrations and Lionel Smith’s portraits. Also I am huge fan of Ai Weiwei ‘s work and the story behind it.
What in the art world are you most excited about at the moment?
It’s an exciting time for artists these days as you have opportunities to connect with your audience, collaborate with other artists and create shows yourself. I love the power of social media. I see it as a powerful tool to change the art world dramatically.
Most sexiest art person?
Daniella Midenge, a Swedish photographer. My biggest girl crush!
Where are you off to next?
I am going to check out the art spaces for my upcoming show in Cape Town.
Where is your next art trip/travel going to be?
Hopefully London, if I get accepted for the art challenge I submitted my work to. Still waiting patiently.
In your eyes: what is the most arty city?
For such a small city Cape Town has got a lot to offer. It’s booming with emerging artists and cool hangouts.
Someone you have in mind to call the perfect artworld gentlemen?
Can’t name anyone in particular.
Which artists should we have on our watchlist?
Lesha Kurbatov! So much talent!
