Louvre Debuts Fragrance Line
That’s right, you can now smell like your favourite masterpiece. Launching next week, the Louvre has teamed up with some of France’s finest noses to create a line of perfumes inspired by masterpieces in their collection. Forget Venus de Milo, it’s all about Eau de Milo now!
KAWS Heads to Mount Fuji
Having just been to Hong Kong and a Pharrell Williams music festival, KAWS’ Holiday sculpture is now touching down on Mount Fuji. This will mark the beginning of a special camping experience with AllRightsReserved (between 18 and 24 July), where KAWS will be in attendance himself to kick off the “camping exhibition.”
Kim Kardashian In Trouble Over “Kimonos”
It’s no secret, Kim K likes to put her name on things. Make up, clothes, sunglasses, she’s done it all, being sure to steal headlines along the way. Her latest endeavor though has really raised eyebrows. She has launched a line of “shapewear” (underwear to anyone else), which she has called “kimono.” This has the whole of the internet screaming over cultural appreciation and lack of respect to the traditional Japanese garment.
Vans Releases Frida Kahlo Inspired Collection
Vault by Vans has just introduced a footwear collection honoring art world legend Frida Kahlo. The shoes will be for sale from 29 June 2019 and will be available at select stores.
Paul McCartney Curates Retrospective of Late Wife’s Photographs
Together with his daughters Mary and Stella, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney has curated a retrospective of his late wife Linda McCartney’s work. The exhibition will take place at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery between 5 July 2019 and 12 January 2020.
Museum Sells Rothko In Order To Diversify Collection
After selling a 1960 work by Rothko via Sotheby’s (for a whopping $50.1 million), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is diversifying its collection with the purchase of 11 works by 10 artists. The names include such #girlboss’s as Leonora Carrington and Mickalene Thomas.
Paris Photo To Launch Fair In New York
After discontinuing its Los Angeles edition in 2017, Paris Photo has announced that a New York edition will take place in April 2020.
