You Can Now Buy Salvador Dali Tarot Cards
The Christmas present you never knew you wanted. For just $60 you can have your own deck of surrealist Tarot cards designed by Salvador Dali. Originally commissioned for James Bond film Live and Let Die in 1973, the cards have been released by art publisher Taschen.
Ai Weiwei Star Of New Documentary
For those of you who haven’t seen Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, go see it now (it includes an amazing cat that can jump up and open door handles). For those who have, there is a new documentary about the artist called Ai Weiwei: Yours Truly, directed by Cheryl Haines, airing in New York this weekend, and we’re hoping it will appear worldwide soon too.
David Hockney’s Ex-Lover Says He Wasn’t His Muse
In a recent Artnet article, Peter Schlesinger, David Hockney’s former lover and subject of many of his paintings, explained that he was not Hockney’s muse and that he finds the spread of Hockney’s paintings of him within the media as “pretty tedious.” I mean, how many of us would like to see photos of us taken by our ex’s all over the internet? (Although, that said, if you look at Schlesinger’s Instagram feed, there are many images of Hockney, so you judge what this is all about for yourselves…)

You Can Now Wear Basquiat On Your Wrist
American watch brand DAEM has collabed with the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat to feature the artist’s Now’s The Time and other works on three watches. The pieces will be released online on 5 December.
Prada Gets Exhibition At London’s Design Museum
Prada girls can now rejoice as London’s Design Museum has announced that they will be hosting an exhibition dedicated to the brand in September 2020. Prada: Front and Back will look at the brand’s history, while focusing on how Miuccia Prada has transformed the legendary label with her leadership.

Daniel Arsham Creates Warhol Inspired Work Especially For Auction
The Andy Warhol Museum turns 25 this year and to celebrate they have commissioned Daniel Arsham to make specially eroded Brillo Boxes, in a nod to Warhol’s infamous artwork. Arsham’s creations will go straight on sale at Sotheby’s with the proceeds benefitting the museum.
Banksy Makes Another Auction Record
This time for the sale of an album cover. Sold by online site Discogs, a Banksy designed vinyl record – for Royksopp’s Melody A.M. – has smashed the site’s previous highest sale (held by the Beatles) by selling for a whopping $10,256. And, while the price is high, it’s still probably cheaper that purchasing a piece of his art via the traditional art auction houses.
Art Collection Of Diane Disney Miller Goes To Auction
Who doesn’t love Disney? That’s right, no-one. Now, the collection of Walt Disney’s daughter Diane Disney Miller is coming up for sale through Christie’s. The collection includes works by Henri Matisse and Roy Lichtenstein, with the sale going towards a number of institutions including the funding of the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
