Fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa once said: “My obsession is to make women beautiful, when you create with that in mind, things can’t go out of fashion.” That statement is at the core of Alaïa’s new retrospective, which recently opened at the Design Museum in London, for an exhibition entitled “The Couturier.” From early looks from the 1980s to recent pieces, some highlights include outfits worn by Grace Jones, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. Until October 7, check out a chronological wall outlining peak moments from the designers life, having worked with Yves Saint Laurent at Christian Doir and ballet collections and his “off calendar” year in 1988.
