Berlin’s Hottest Bar for the Art Scene

In Berlin, a city of dying art bars, one authentic place remains.

Chausseestrasse 131 is a bar where the art scene flock to, and keeps one of the city’s most legendary addresses alive. This very building is where iconic Berlin musicians like Wolf Biermann and Nina Hagen lived in the 1960s.
You might not know it, but the bar is in fact not a secret club (despite its red curtains).

This underground gem is where David Lynch collaborator Chrysta Bell has spent DJing all-night. As for the drink list, there’s much more beyond beer – try the watermelon japaleños margarita with Tajín (dried chili from Mexico) and Patrón, which is a drink the owner Liz Paige brought with her from Texas.
