Oh good, it looks like former Cannes jury president Cate Blanchett will play a Marina Abramović-ish performance artist in the upcoming third season of ‘Documentary Now!’, reports Artnet News.
The show, which features comedians riffing on documentaries, will have Blanchett playing a fictional performance artist named Izabella Barta, a “renowned performance artist who feels pressured to put on the show of her life.
“How is that Marina? She laments over her former lover, Dimo Van Omen, who is described as an “infamous provocateur of the art world.”
Despite the art world seriousness which will surely take the screen, we’re sure the nudity will be missing. Let’s stay tuned, it debuts February next year.
