The Celebrity Tattoo Artist Who Has Inked All the Stars

Mark Mahoney is a celebrity tattoo artist based in Hollywood, and naturally, he has inked all of the stars.
Just recently celebrated his 40 year anniversary as a tattoo artist, Mahoney has inked – and forged friendships with stars like Tupac Shakur and Johnny Depp, he also befriended One Direction, Lady Gaga, Jared Leto and David Beckham, who he describes as an ‘ideal client’ who keeps coming back (they also are friends, btw).


He specializes in black and white tattoos that have impeccable line work. He also specializes in religious tattoos, including cherubs.
“I think there’s so many good artists now that you have to look for originality, there is so much information that young tattooists can get really good, really fast and in my day there was no library books or magazines, so these kids are lucky,” he told Metro News.
“It’s kind of Squaresville now, all kinds of regular people get tattooed now, it’s not so much outlaws and rebels like it was before, ‘now, I am afraid a rebel is the one without tattoos.”
