Like everything else this summer, fashion week went online, and while that may make you want to snooze, we’ve got something to make you sit up. Dior Mens just collaborated with artist Amoako Boafo on their 2021 summer collection called A Portrait Of An Artist, and it’s everything you needed to brighten up your mood and more.
Kim Jones, the creative director or Dior Mens, has a long history of collaborating with artists, from KAWS to Daniel Arsham, he knows a thing or two about the art world. This latest collab puts the work of Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo right and centre. Even the prelude to the show was all about the art, with Kim showing a video of the artist painting in Miami last year following the two of them meeting for the first time.
The clothes are just as dreamy as Amoako’s paintings, with his portraits appearing on everything from sweaters to suits. And, in a time where the world is finally paying attention to its diversity problem, we love that the collection was showcased by black models.
A completely dreamy collection, we know this is something art girls the world over will be scrambling for as soon as it’s released!
