One of the most happiest events of last week was the launch of the much-awaited (and needed) episodes of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life”. We can also add to the list Obama awarding a teary Ellen Degeneres the Medal of Freedom, alongside other major figures and celebrities including Tom Hanks and Diana Ross. But then, these important highlights get over-shadowed by trivial facts such as Kanye West’s admittance to hospital due to stress and paranoia, which led to the cancellation of his tour Life of Pablo – really?

#1  Fashion Designers Create Their Own Emojis

It was only a matter of time until fashion designers created emojis, after having implemented them into their designs from coats to jumpers, and shoes. Five designers have joined the trend, conceptualising emojis resembling their brands’ logos and signature styles. The following designers include Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Comme des Garçons, Topshop, and Jeremy Scott for Google Pixel.

#2  A Peek Inside Elton John’s Modern Art Collection
Did you know that Elton John is an avid art collector? The world-renowned singer has amassed an impressive art collection for over 25 years, which features a comprehensive overview of modernist photography. His collection is recently revealed which presents major Modern artists from Dorothea Lange’s Dust Bowl-ear snapshots, and Man Ray’s portraits of Picasso and Matisse.

#3  A Milan-Based Exhibition Celebrated Women Photographers and the Female Gaze
Vogue Italia organised an exhibition in Milan in an attempt to explore the female gaze in fashion photography spotlighting established names in the industry. Donna Trope, Cindy Sherman, and Vanessa Beecroft are among the many artists whose works were showcased in the exhibition “The Female Gaze”, each presenting a diverse depiction of the female form. The show ended on November 26.
#4  Do Abercrombie & Fitch Have a Shot at a Brand Revival?
Two weeks ago, it was announced that Abercrombie & Fitch had a significant slump in sales due to difficulty in rebranding. Major flagship stores are expected to close down, especially in Hong Kong and Seoul. However, media noticed an unexpected image while scrolling through their Instagram feed. Rap star Lil Uzi Vert was photographed on a hotel bed covered in hundred dollar bills, next to holographic Pokemon cards, while dressed in a full A&F look. Is this the announcement of a marriage between hip hop and A&F? Could Uzi help revive the label’s brand image?
