Daisy Walker is the founder of the UK-based Women in Fashion, is a feminist photographer using the camera lens to fight back against misogyny.
She runs a non-profit organisation providing women and men in the fashion industry a platform to raise issues and make change to better the industry – from sexism to discrimination and gender representation.
She has donated the funds from her series of nudes to London’s Solace Women’s Aid, an awareness group for sexual violence survivors. Walker, who has shot for Dazed, i-D, Vogue Ukraine and Burberry, Margiela and Nike, told LOVE magazine how important it is to speak up for your rights as a creative.
“Never compromise on your integrity,” she said. “There are always ways to ensure you are being political and responsible whilst still having a love for fashion. Get informed about the brands you’re buying into and the artists you follow. There are remarkable people working in the industry who are fair, open, supportive, generous and feminist – find them, or better yet, become one yourself.”
