With the #MeToo movement, Hollywood’s leading ladies creating the Time’s Up organization and the outcry from women’s rights activists across the globe, the future certainly is female. The Fahey/KleinGallery in Los Angeles just opened a group show called Future Feminine, which explores the female gaze in photography. Until February 24, catch works by Amanda Charchian, who puts the female form in a romantic yet mysterious mood, puzzling pieces around femininity by collaborators Honey Long and Prue Stent, as well as fashion-inspired photos by Remy Holwick, a fashion model and activist who presents women even more powerfully than Helmut Newton. Flex those muscles, ladies.
