Kindergarten is a series of queer rave parties in Paris which apparently is bringing back the iconic NYC club kids ethos with extravagant costumes they call post-drag, and is being called the new Paris queer culture by French music journalist, Jean-Yves Leloup.
The man behind the magic is Hugo Do Peso aka Marmoset, the Kindergarten co-founder and represents an underground scene in the outskirts of Paris, the suburbs, hosted in warehouses and organized by collectives, which gives it a mega DIY feeling.
“People aren’t going to nightclubs anymore, people are organizing parties where everything is permitted,” Leloup says. “Berghain is a model for many of these parties.”
