It’s an inspirational place we wish we all had growing up as girls.
It isn’t everywhere that girls get center stage to pursue their passions, but New York is one of them. The Lower Eastside Girls Club is more than just a community center for girl power – it’s the go-to place for young girls with dreams that they want to come true.
There’s a sewing and design studio, an art school, a digital and audio arts program, as well as mentorship programs with professionals in the field (Natasha Lyonne and Karlie Kloss recently attended the Girl’s Club Spring Fling last week to show their support).
The Girls Club’s also has a 64-seat East Village Planetarium with a digital dome offering education on astro-physics and space science, they also have a maker shop that helps girls with computer coding to Arduinos to pre-robotics, and a maker shop offers girls the opportunity to work with role models in the STEM fields while designing and completing creative projects.
