Video conferencing services are becoming hugely popular, as they allow you to virtually meet with others when in-person conversations aren’t possible. For Zoom, this has led to the discovery of its virtual background feature, which is great news as it means no more cleaning-up at the very last moment or a sad empty wall behind you.
A new curated platform of designer backgrounds has launched, brilliantly titled Got Your Back which aims to please the creative crowd!
The platform offers an ever growing collection of free-to-download artworks by some of the creative industry’s most famous names, including a pink backdrop by designer Sabine Marcelis, work by artists from NYC agency Hugo & Marie, illustrator Lennard Kok, and even some Old Master classics from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Though free, the platform encourages users to download and donate to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
The aim says creator Jochem Leegstra is to “bring a touch of optimism to those virtual spaces and celebrate the creative community… bringing creativity to a new way of communicating”.
Whether you are keen to hide your messy home from your colleagues during a virtual meeting or would like to jazz up your surroundings while chatting with friends, it is time to create a fun video background. Download the backdrops via the Got Your Back website.
And if those don’t cut it and you are looking for something a bit more comical…
Give Ru Paul’s werk room a go, or download the ever so popular Animal Crossing backdrop, The Simpsons Living Room, The Tiger King who will appear as a new roommate – or hey why not a toilet paper stash ?
And if you are feeling creative Canva offer templates to design your own backdrop.
How to add your new background to Zoom?
1. Sign in to Zoom Desktop Client
2. Click Settings and turn on the virtual background option
