While KAWS ‘ massive HOLIDAY installation after stops in Taipei and Seoul is about to arrive at Hong Kong`s Victoria Harbour, the Brooklyn artist has shares details on another upcoming exhibition in Hong Kong, just in time for Art Basel. Showcasing a a good ten years of works, including a range of paintings and sculptures never seen before in the city, the upcoming exhibit gathers 37 of KAWS’ most iconic pieces to the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation.
Curated by Italian art historian Germano Celant, the indoor and outdoor exhibition will host a familiar 18-foot-tall ALONG THE WAY figurine greeting visitors and debut the almost hugging companions.
“It is very exciting to see so many of my works gathered in one place and representing different phases and facets of my career,” quoted KAWS. “I have always wanted my art to connect with people – to have this opportunity to exhibit my works in the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling centre is great.”
Tickets to the exhibition will be made free to the public on HOCA’s website starting March 18 at 11am. The exhibition is scheduled to run at PMQ from March 26-April 14, 2019.
