This week marked the beginning of the spring season, with the vernal equinox taking place on the 20 March. With that being said, it’s time for your annual spring clean, to clear your mind and space for fresh beginnings! This doesn’t have to end when you have completed a big tidy-up mission of your home and or physical workplace. Your messy desktop is most probably due for a clean-up too. Trust us, you will be thankful when this is done and you can become more organized with your workflow.

If you’re looking to tidy up your desktop, here are some tips:

Organize files and folders
Start by creating folders and categorizing your files accordingly. Use clear and concise names for your folders so that you can easily find what you need. Create sub-folders within main folders to further organize your files.

Remove unnecessary files
Go through your desktop and delete any files that you no longer need. This will help to declutter your desktop and make it easier to find important files.

Use shortcuts
Instead of cluttering up your desktop with multiple files, create shortcuts to the programs or files that you use frequently. This will make it easier to access them without having to search through your desktop.

Customize your desktop
Use a simple and clean desktop background to help you focus on your work. Avoid using distracting wallpapers or images that clutter your desktop.

Keep it tidy
Make a habit of regularly going through your desktop and organizing your files. Set aside some time each week in the calendar to tidy up and keep your desktop organized. This will help you stay productive and efficient.
