About the AGO

We are currently seeking a temporary full-time, Associate, Prospect Research to join our Development team. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Development Operations, the incumbent will implement the strategies for developing and managing a robust prospect pipeline for annual, major, planned and campaign gifts, and corporate partnerships in support of the AGO’s funding priorities. He/She/They coordinates prospect research and analytics, by following prescribed processes set out by Department. Inputs and tracks data, ensuring highest integrity and adherence to industry best practices as set out by Development Operations policies. Approaches donor information management with a focus on a holistic donor view, transparency and accountability.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Two years of experience in prospect research, donor development, prospect identification, major gifts and fundraising campaigns.
  • Comprehensive understanding of donor databases.
  • Library science educational background an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applicable computer programs such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, , and Power Point and keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using prospect research and financial tools and resources such as NOZA, Charity Can, Imagine Canada, SEDI, SEDAR, Meltwater, Factiva, Mergent Online and more.
  • Experience with the Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising database an asset.
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to relationship management.
  • Well developed administrative, analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Post-secondary education in fundraising is preferred.
