The Role

To partner with the Regional Managing Director (RMD) for the Impressionist & Modern Art cluster to realize department objectives and to drive profitability. The Business Manager is responsible for supporting the RMD in staff management, financial, strategic and executional management of the various sale seasons across all sale channels for American Art, Latin American Art and Prints & Multiples
 

Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to

Auction and Online  – American Art, Latin American Art,  Prints & Multiples

  • Supervise and manage department specialists as follows:
  • Manage cross-departmental sale initiatives
  • Manage all deadlines and communication as related to sale season
  • Oversee and approve terms and consignment agreements for American Art, Latin American Art, Prints & Multiples
  • Support RMD for all War Room preparation
  • Support RMD to provide necessary information to Finance Business Partner for financial reporting (ie., forecast, budgeting, sale p&l)
  • Oversee marketing and tours with HSM

The Candidate

  • Master’s degree in Business Management or equivalent field preferred; or an undergraduate degree with at least 4-6 years of related work experience
  • Supervisory and management experience required
  • Demonstrated proactive, collaborate approach
  • Be able to effectively lead and develop a team and build strong working relationships across departments and across sites
  • Exceptional client service skills including strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Project management skills including ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple processes
  • Strong ability to monitor task progress and ensure consistency in approach
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple groups and sites
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Ability to creatively problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong knowledge of JDE, COS Media Library
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Presentation software
