JOB OVERVIEW

Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art for scholars, connoisseurs, collectors, and the general public alike. Frieze comprises three magazines – frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week – and five international art fairs – Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York, Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze Seoul (launching September 2022). In addition, this October, Frieze will launch No.9 Cork Street, a hub for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair, London. Frieze is part of the IMG network. IMG is a global leader in sports, fashion, events and media and is a subsidiary of Endeavor, a global entertainment, sports and content company.

Contract Summary

As part of Frieze Studios, the Creative Producer supports and contributes to the development and implementation of creative brand solutions and delivery of bespoke Fair projects. This role works closely with the Studios Creative Lead to create and commission content for Frieze Week magazine, published four times per year, as well as for branded editorial products.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working closely with the Studios team, the Creative Producer contributes to the development of brand solutions and manages creative projects from ideation to delivery
  • Carry out required research, collating information, and imagery to help strengthen proposals
  • Write copy in Frieze’s voice, with the ability to maintain the brand’s standards and tone
  • Under the direction of the Studios Creative Lead, develop concepts and ideas for editorial commissions, for all issues of Frieze Week and ad hoc editorial projects
  • Develop concepts which meet partner style guidelines and restrictions, whilst adhering to Frieze’s values and objectives
  • Form part of the team that will pitch ideas to clients as necessary
  • Prepare for and attend team and cross-department meetings on a regular basis, following up on any action points
  • Manage and coordinate projects and events related to partners and fairs
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
  • Establish timelines and production schedules and manage production and delivery according to schedule
  • Manage production and delivery according to established budgets
  • Manage freelance and temporary staff involved in the production of events and activations
  • Manage on-site production and activations at Fairs as necessary
  • Represent Frieze at external client meetings, as required.
  • Support Fair press and marketing activity, as required.
  • Represent Frieze at social events, as required.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience within a related environment such as a commercial gallery, museum, international art fair or publication
  • An excellent copywriter with demonstrable experience of successfully producing editorial content
  • Impeccable proofreading and editing skills
  • Capable of managing quantitative and technical duties while also using eye for detail to implement the visual aspects of an event
  • Ability to propose conceptual outlines and produce original ideas that maintain the Frieze brand identity
  • Proven ability to multitask many different responsibilities and collaborate with a wide range of teams in order to oversee events, while maintaining a keen eye for details
  • Highly organised, exceptional communication skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • Proven ability to work with artists and curators, to produce and deliver artistic projects

Desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of fabrication and production across all art form mediums, including traditional and new technologies
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art world

Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent position.
  • This role will be based at Surrey Street
  • Working hours are 10:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday 
  • Occasional travel and weekend work may be required
