JOB OVERVIEW

Description

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a Development Assistant, Research. Reporting to the Manager, Research, the Development Assistant conducts donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations via online and standard research sources as requested by the Development team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Works closely with Development and other Museum staff to assess and fulfill research needs.
  • Prepares and writes donor profiles and event blurbs for use by Museum staff.
  • Proactively identifies new prospects for specific exhibitions, galas, and councils.
  • Uses wealth screen software to upload, verify, and quantify data.
  • Creates and maintains research files on members/donors.
  • Creates and analyzes Salesforce reports for research purposes
  • Manages intern-related responsibilities and coordinates with Development staff on scheduling.
  • Works on special research projects as requested.
  • Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two years related development/research experience, preferably in prospect research.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and strict attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to produce under deadlines and work effectively with a diverse group.
  • Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, iWave, Foundation Center, government filings, and reference databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and best Internet practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce and an interest in art preferred.
  • Fully vaccinated with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and/or the World Health Organization authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis).
