JOB OVERVIEW

 WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A NEW TEAM MEMBER (d/f/m) TO JOIN THE DEVELOPMENT

& PRODUCTION TEAM AT STUDIO OLAFUR ELIASSON

Start date: As soon as possible

Employment: Part-time (approx. 30 h/week), initially limited to 2 years

Where: Berlin

Job Description:

We offer a position in our Development & Production Team, where you will support the team in

creating technical descriptions and documentation. This highly specific task requires knowledge

and skills from various fields:

 Resposibilities:

• Documentation of technical details and processes

• Creation of assembly, installations and maintenance instructions for artworks made from a wide variety of

materials (metal, glass, wood, light, mechanics, electronics, water, fog, etc.)

• Inspection of artworks and condition reports

• Handling damage assesments, including ordering materials, creating repair instructions and dispatching

spare parts

• Archiving of material-specific information

• Conducting Material research

 Requirements:

• Strong technical understanding – ideally, experience in handling and installing artworks

• Extensive knowledge of materials and techniques used in art, including mechanical components and

electronics

• High level of expertise in the use of graphic design programs (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

• Strong ability to communicate complex processes in a clear and simple way

• Focused, structured and patient personality

• Team-oriented mindset

• Understanding of and interest in contemporary art

• Good command of English and German

 About the Studio:

The studio team consists of specialised technicians, architects, artists, art historians, cooks, and

administrators. We work with Eliasson to experiment, develop, and install artworks, projects,

and exhibitions as well as to communicate and contextualise his work. We’re a fast-paced team

that understands the importance of slow, in-depth work. We hire highly skilled team-players,
