Hello! Artist Gretchen Andrew is looking to hire a digital studio assistant to help with general operations and to assist with her residency at London’s National Gallery X
- Part-Time, 10 hours/week
- Flexible Hours, approximately broken into 2 X 5 hour days
- $800/ Month
- 4 paid hours a month can be applied to learning a mutually beneficial new skillset, such as animation
- Remote, slight preference for London-based
- Starts with a 3-month contract, hopefully, extended but do apply if you are looking for a summer job.
Responsibilities include:
- Formulation of notes into proposals and presentations
- Invoicing using Stripe
- Creating VR exhibitions and online viewing rooms
- Photoshop editing of artwork photographs
- Basic website updates
- Organizing expressions of gratitude
- Creating promotional content, basic or advanced video editing is very welcome
- Updating works database, press packets
- Developing artist assets
- Physical & digital newsletter mailing
- Keeping international gallery and art dealer team in the loop
- Breaking press into scheduled tweets
- Creating reports on artwork’s impact on activist issues such as internet literacy
National Gallery Responsibilities
With London’s National Gallery Gretchen Andrew has been taking on the challenge of creating processes and frameworks for digital loan agreements that would allow the National Gallery and other institutions to digitally loan artworks into VR and other digital environments. Working closely with 7 of the best VR platforms from around the world, the residency will result in the creation of comparative VR exhibitions with works by Gretchen Andrew alongside those from The National Gallery’s collection. The residency has already created a digital loan process agreement to introduce into the larger museum community along with Digital Facilities Reports and an “Institution’s Guide to exhibiting in VR.”
With London’s National Gallery Gretchen is looking for a digital studio assistant to help:
- Design, curate, and install the VR experiences on Artland, Ezel, Voritc, New Art City, Mozilla Hubs, Kunstmatrix, and ArtSteps. This requires no coding. All platforms can be easily learned.
- Filling out the digital facilities reports for each platform
- Facilitate VR filming at Kew Gardens (if located in London)
- Arranging supplemental content, video/audio tours
Experience creating VR exhibitions or online viewing rooms is cool but not required.
