  • B.A. in art history, curatorial studies, art management, design, architecture, interior architecture; M.A. preferred
  • Min. 5 years of similar experience
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Project coordination experience with multi tasking skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, strong inter-personal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments, as well as independently.

Core Responsibilities of Exhibition Management Specialist

  • Liaise with clients for deliveries, installations, and special projects as a courier, traveling with loans and exhibitions if needed.
  • Help with installation and de-installation of works borrowed from other instructions.

· Serve as the lead project manager for assigned exhibitions and projects, managing the process, completion of milestones, team communication, budget, and implementation.

· Organize and lead exhibition checklist development with the curatorial and design departments and planning and implementation meetings across multiple departments.

· Ensure smooth communication between all parties involved in executing exhibitions. Monitor and analyze scope and budget against time and resources.

· Coordinate meetings, set agendas, and ensure information is regularly shared appropriately to keep all stakeholders moving forward.

· Develop high-level budget estimates.

· Work with Finance on the final exhibition budget, monitoring actuals versus budget, and report on final project cost versus plan.

· Participate in regular forecast meetings with the department and Finance.

· Review and approve all invoices for assigned exhibitions submitted by departmental staff.

· For assigned exhibitions, manage implementation onsite at the Museum, including calling regular meetings, monitoring activity on the floor, and overseeing budgets.

· Troubleshot any problems during the exhibition’s installation and alerted senior staff to any significant trade-offs to ensure an exhibition was completed on time and on goal.

· Oversee the use of an assigned exhibition space during the changeover and the exhibition’s run.
