The Facilities Assistant is part of the Design Museum’s facilities team and plays a central role in supporting the team in the delivery of a wide range of exciting and innovative projects across the museum, whilst maintaining and preserving our Grade 2* listed building.
This role acts as support to the Head of Facilities (HoF) and the Facilities Manager and is a key point of contact for internal museum stakeholders and a range of external partners.
The role would suit a recent graduate looking to develop their experience in an exciting and fast-moving environment.
The role
The role is a hands on administrative role, liaising with all the museum teams on behalf of the facilities team. You will be part of a small team delivering facilities support, ensuring the estate is accessible, secure, safe, well presented and for for use for our visitors and staff. The focus of the role is the underpinning administrative functions, such as finance processes, helpdesk liaison, auditing and performance reporting.
Job scope
The role oversees the administrative delivery of the facilities function and the speedy and efficient resolution of any queries which the wider museum team may have for the team.
The role supports the administration of an operational budget of approximately £1.8m (excluding additional capital or bespoke project costs).
