Seeking a detail-oriented, hard-working, and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to support the Director at our London gallery on Portman Square. The ideal candidate will be methodical, highly organised, proactive, and collaborative with excellent English. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-paced, emerging gallery and be a part of a busy (but small) gallery team. The position is Thursday through Saturday, with additional hours as needed for events, Private Views, work-related tasks. Paid hourly.
Support
• Providing administrative support to Gallery Director
• Update Artlogic database with artwork images and details
• Update Artlogic website for each show, event and press article
• Prepare catalogues for clients alongside the social media manager
• Prepare and update agreements for consignments, commissions, and sales
• Prepare, send and track offers, invoices and payments alongside the general admin assistant
• Assist pre and post exhibition logistics alongside Operations Director
• Provide client liaison support and engage with clients in a polite, professional manner
• Maintain an excellent relationship with artists’ studios, providing them with administrative, logistical and project management support
• Oversee calendar, itinerary, expenses, and travel arrangements for the gallery director and team
• Update and organise database and record client contacts, activity/interests, and artwork information
• Marketing and Social Media Assistance
• Support Visual Communications with Social Media Management
• Write superb copy for social media posts, aligning with gallery style
Qualifications
• BA or MA in Art History, Fine Art, or a related field preferred
• Excellent writing and organisational skills
• Excellent communication etiquette in person, on the phone, and over email
• Proficient in Google, ArtLogic, and Microsoft Suite
• Quick problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work independently, while also being an enthusiastic and collaborative team player
