Job Description:
・Assist in the preparation of exhibitions and projects: liaise with artist liaisons and artist studios to plan and organise exhibitions; create operation schedules; allocate specialized tasks to the appropriate internal department or external supplier; plan travel and logistics for artists and important contacts; ensure timely delivery of assets to meet deadlines.
・ Catalogue exhibitions and artworks in the gallery database.
・ Create, edit, and proofread exhibition previews and other promotional materials.
・ Respond to press and media inquiries, facilitating communication between internal teams and external parties.
・ Handle the opening and closing of the gallery on a regular basis and manage the gallery reception greeting visitors, answering phone calls, etc.
・ Maintain a thorough understanding of the gallery’s program and be prepared to answer visitors’ related questions.
・ Welcome artists, clients and visitors at gallery openings, art fairs and events.
・ Other daily administrative duties
Qualification requirements:
· Language skills: Excellent oral communication and writing skills in Japanese and English
· Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe [Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign], etc.)
· Eligible to work in Japan
· (Preferred) Knowledge of contemporary art/artists
· (Preferred) Experience in the contemporary art industry
Contract period:
Three month trial period / long-term desired
Work place: Roppongi gallery (1F Piramide Bldg, 6-6-9 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo)
Working hours:
Working days: 5 days per week, Tuesday to Saturday (negotiable if 5 days is not possible)
Working hours: 10: 30-19: 30
Overtime: Occasional
Break: 1 hour
Holidays: Mondays, Sundays, public holidays, and other holidays set by the company
Social insurance: Yes
Wages: To be set depending on experience and skills
