Hexton Gallery is hiring a curious, dynamic and engaged individual to join our entrepreneurial team of professionals at our location in Aspen, Colorado.

Job Description and Qualifications:

● You are self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, efficient and committed, with a deep interest in pursuing a professional career in arts.
● You are interested in working in an entrepreneurial environment and while enjoying interacting with artists, curators and collectors and being part of a welcoming community.
● You have an endless passion for art and are always interested in learning more about it, deepening your knowledge about trends and art movements.
● You love being part of a dedicated team, bringing your creative ideas, your motivation and your urpose into the conversation.
● You are interested in environmental stewardship and conservation, and in having an active role in engaging with artists and the community in creating a comprehensive art program around this topic.
● You can make a 2-year commitment, be a team-player, have strong people skills and can start immediately.


● You will work with the team to plan and execute the gallery’s programming including solo/group exhibitions, and installation and deinstallation of exhibitions year-round
● You will meet artists and collectors, attend opening receptions, gallery events and closing parties
● You will assist in the development of local artists’ program and community outreach initiatives
● You will assist the gallery director with correspondences, art fair arrangements, client relations and appointments for artist studio visits as well as private appointments and art viewings
● You will serve as a key administrative point-person to the Gallery’s diverse audience of collectors, curators, artists, peer gallerists, critics, and general audience members
● You will help to oversee the ongoing internal operations of the gallery including inventory control, contact management, calendar planning, fulfilling online orders and following up on project development
● You will ensure proper public presentation of office and exhibition spaces, overseeing gallery maintenance, in-house and with contractors, and order supplies
● You will carry out general administrative duties including data entry, intake/outtake forms, shipping documents, consignments, art loan forms and receipts
● You will attend to general office duties including phone and email communications, social media postings and online sales platform updates

Art software management knowledge a plus (Artlogic, Artsy, Pipedrive, Mailchimp, Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc.)

Preferred work history in an art gallery, nonprofit or museum setting, however not essential. A positive attitude to receiving feedback, and an active engagement in developing learning strategies to implement changes are essential to fulfill this role.

There is ample opportunity for developing your curatorial and creative skills, growing in responsibilities and compensation accordingly and over time.


● Starting salary $50k annual, with opportunity for bonuses, annual raises and professional growth (potential to earn up to $70k annual in first year), based on performance reviews and accomplishments
