In whatever category, we aim to provide collectors with the very best pieces, and accompany them along the entire process of sourcing to sale, installation and conservation.

We offer introductory courses on art appreciation for executives, professionals and family offices who are at the beginning of their art collecting journey, as well as in-depth electives for more seasoned collectors. The role:

Metis is looking for a highly-motivated and committed candidate who wants to pursue a commercial career in visual arts management, specifically in the areas of sales assistance, marketing and communications. Although part-time, this role has large potential for progression and upside as you must manage a small team. The role will report to the Director of Education & Consultancy, through whom you will be mentored so you develop professionally.

Job Scope:

  • Work closely with the Director of Education & Consultancy to support the Sales team by creating decks, doing price and market research.
  • Manage Social Media Intern and Designer to oversee the production of marketing collateral.
  • Conduct strategic press outreach for editorial or advertorial features.
  • Strategically map out digital marketing campaigns over each quarter to boost traffic, conversions and sales.
  • Edit copy and content for press releases, e-newsletter blasts and the website in our tone of voice.
  • Assist in event planning, vendor and partner liaison and logistics management.
  • Perform other ad-hoc and administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • A digital native who loves social media, and understands the value of marketing a brand, and how sales are the engine of a business.
  • Self-motivated individual with high energy, positivity, initiative and leadership qualities.
  • Willingness to learn on the job, especially with skills one doesn’t have yet.
  • High attention to detail, extremely organised, with ability to multitask across multiple projects.
  • Extremely punctual and deadline-driven.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills in English, with a vocabulary attuned to the fine art industry.
  • Fluency in Google Drive, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc) and/or iWork (Pages, Numbers, etc) are necessary.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns are necessary.
  • Experience in a design program like Adobe Suite is a bonus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in visual arts management is strongly preferred, with a desire to advance in the commercial sector of the industry.
  • Available immediately with a minimum commitment of 1 year.

Benefits:

  • Flexible work-from-home or remote arrangement is possible, if you desire. Our home office is comfortable and centrally-located.
  • Probation salary of SG$1,500/month (pro-rated according to part-time hours) to be increased to $2,500 after growth and performance during a 2-month trial period.
  • Performance-based bonus of 2-4 months upon excellent performance after first year.
  • Excellent networking via exposure to our clients and partners (galleries, arts non-profits, institutions, etc).
  • Possibility of business travel to art fairs, client visits and company retreats when borders reopen.
