JOB OVERVIEW

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

MNI Targeted Media, a division of Dotdash Meredith provides a single point of contact for multiplatform, customized, and targeted advertising. From research and strategy to implementation and analysis, MNI Targeted Media offers the print and digital products and services needed to reach audiences efficiently and effectively in select markets.

As a member of the Creative Studio team, the Graphic Designer leads the conception, development, and creation of all design operations, including (but not limited to) sales materials, presentations, social graphics, advertising design, website updates, event materials, and brand development. As the needs of our sales team evolve, this person will have knowledge of the newest technologies available in design and will be responsible for providing digital solutions and executing them. Must be able to work independently or as part of a small team with general direction.

II. Essential Job Functions

  • Utilizes the MNI brand identity and extends that identity through sales and promotional materials via every medium while maintaining our design system principles.
  • Will ensure the integrity of our brand to create consistency.
  • Production of marketing materials such as e-books, presentations (PowerPoint), infographics, motion graphic clips, and social media support.

15%

  • Responsible for improving and enhancing the company website both visually and functionally:
    Brand-related initiatives, page builds, website visuals
    Maintain and optimize our website in conjunction with our SEO partner
  • Identifying areas of improvement with the company website and submitting recommendations to our senior leadership for improvements.

25%

  • Keep up to date with the constantly evolving software, tools, and design trends within our

industry.

  • Take direction from project managers with the ability to prioritize projects, while working independently under tight deadlines.

10%

  • All other creative-focused tasks as assigned.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Design, Graphic Design or related field; or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a marketing design capacity.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills in design programs including Adobe Suite applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of layout design, pre-press and printing.
  • Ability to adhere to art team guidelines and departmental processes.
  • Understanding principles of company branding and ability to execute brand guidelines across platforms.
  • Proficient in basic website CMS usage, knowledge of Hubspot platform a plus
  • Mac exp. required
  • Ability to operate independently with a high level of autonomous decision making.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail. Process oriented. Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
