Head of Gallery Liaison (m/f/x) – Art Tech Venture

Zurich, remote considered if in Europe

We can see that the art industry is ready to evolve. We believe in a future where technology underpins the physical art world, enabling a totally new way of creating, curating and collecting art. We want the story and provenance of every piece of art to be stored immutably. For artists to be rewarded fairly for their work and automatically receive royalties from future sales. To achieve that we want to redefine art ownership, opening up more flexibility for enthusiasts, collectors, artists and galleries.

Backed by two of the most influential leaders in the global art world, BCG Digital Ventures is currently building the platform that will become the digital backbone of the art industry. Leveraging distributed ledger technology, the platform will enable artists, art institutions, and museums to use a suite of tools to trade art and keep artists connected to their artwork. All while increasing operational transparency and efficiency in what is currently a fragmented ecosystem. We will redefine art ownership and open up exciting new models of participation for private and institutional galleries, artists, and collectors.

Due to launch in 2022, we are now recruiting the future team that will take over the reins from BCGDV and grow this business over the coming years to transform a very traditional industry primed for significant disruption. To achieve these goals, we need a fantastic team to build upon the great work done during incubation and take the business forward.

As Head of Gallery Liaison, you will report directly to the CMO and be responsible for the acquisition of new customers and their ongoing satisfaction with the platform.

In this role you will:

  • Help set the go-to-market strategy to successfully bring galleries, artists and collectors onto our platform
  • Be responsible for outreach and acquisition of target galleries and generating a pipeline of leads
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their needs and help continuously refine our product proposition to build a strong solution for the art market
  • Drive the build and continual refinement of our sales process
  • Take a consultative, empathetic approach to developing trust-based, long-term partnerships with artists and galleries
  • Be responsible for setting up product demos to showcase the potential of our platform to prospective clients
  • Be responsible for closing deals/agreements with galleries and other B2B platforms
  • Build and scale the Customer Success team
  • Determine KPIs and manage the function in a data-driven way
  • Actively collaborate and ensure effective feedback loops with the Marketing and Product teams

What you will need to bring to the role:

  • You will need to have a significant professional experience within the art industry – at a gallery, fair, auction house, or advisor for example to build trust within the sector
  • An understanding of effective B2B sales processes and strategies
  • Experience of running and building teams
  • A consultative approach to relationship building and sales, demonstrating empathy and understanding
  • An analytical mindset to monitor pipeline success and conversion rates
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • A track-record of sales or partnerships within the fine art industry would be excellent
  • Prior experience of tech/Saas products would be a bonus
