The Weserburg Museum for Modern Art is looking for a

Head of mediation (m/f/d)

with a job scope of 39.2 hours per week.

Your future task:

  • Development of an inclusive and diversity-oriented education concept in collaboration with the curatorial team
  • Scientific, content-related and methodological conception and implementation of educational programs for the exhibitions: e.g. (dialogical) tours, workshops, digital formats and projects for and with children, young people and adults from a wide range of target groups
  • Conception and implementation of outreach projects, development of new target groups, co-development and work on new participatory formats (Open Space etc.)
  • Development and implementation of innovative didactic materials for art education programs
  • Writing specialist texts, public texts and press releases on art education offerings; Writing texts for project reports, printed products (e.g. annual reports) and the website
  • Preparation of project outlines and funding applications, support in the preparation of proof of use
  • Development and control of digital formats accompanying exhibitions such as apps, website elements, podcasts and audio guides
  • Training and coordination of freelancers for the implementation of the programs
  • Further development and maintenance of the network of our educational and cooperation partners (schools, Schuloffensive eV, Quartier gGmbH, LIS Bremen State Institute for Schools, Wandsbek Art School, etc.)
  • Evaluation and documentation of the placement offers
  • Maintaining and ordering materials for the museum educational workshop

Your profile:

  • Scientific university degree in the fields of art/cultural education, art education, art history, art studies, cultural studies or comparable disciplines
  • Well-founded and verifiable experience in placement work
  • professional competence and interest in contemporary art
  • Experience and knowledge of current discourses in the areas of education, inclusion, participation, digitalization and diversity; Interested in topics such as sustainability, anti-discrimination and critical whiteness as well as gender issues
  • Knowledge of German at level B2, very good knowledge of spoken and written English, and other languages ​​are welcome
  • Organizational talent, structured work in a team
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, independence, resilience, ability to work in a team and sociability
  • confident handling of common MS Office programs; Experience with image and video editing is an advantage
