Perrotin New York is seeking a full-time Registrar with at least three years of experience working in a gallery or museum to begin immediately. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational and multitasking skills, and have strong communication skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Manage shipments for sold artworks – Provide support on incoming and outgoing shipments for art fairs and exhibitions as needed
– Manage and conduct condition reports, label artworks appropriately, file reports on server
– Source fabrication and framing estimates
– Invoicing for logistics and shipments
– Work closely with the on-staff photographer to coordinate weekly photoshoots for artworks
– Assist as needed in the logistics of exhibitions at the gallery, as well as those held at off-site institutions, art fairs, etc.
– Track and communicate shipping schedules to gallery staff – Oversee the release of artworks
Requirements:
– Minimum 3 years experience as a Registrar at a gallery, museum, or arts institution
– Knowledge of and comfortability with particulars for booking Fine Art air, truck, and ocean shipments
– Excellent knowledge of US taxation, insurance, local and international customs procedures
– General knowledge of standard packing procedures – Highly organized, thorough, detailed-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment – Enthusiastic and interested in working closely with others with the ability to build outside relationships with vendors, artists, and institutions – Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and an aptitude for quick-learning and problem-solving
– Must be a supportive team player, able to address new challenges, and maintain a level head under pressure
– Salary commensurate with experience – Position is Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
