JOB OVERVIEW

The Marketing internship is a unique opportunity to grow a nuanced understanding of the gallery’s relationships with key art world figures including artists, collectors, curators, critics and institutional contacts while working closely with the Events, Digital, Design, Content, Books, Video, Photo, and the core Marketing team.Qualifications include ability to multitask, high attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a desire to work in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of Excel and Google Documents is required; Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Notion, are a plus, as is enthusiasm for engaging in a range of media and interdisciplinary projects, from public and private events to digital marketing.Primary responsibilities include:Operational Support

  • Organize and upkeep our physical & digital advertising archive and include detailed tracking of publication deployment including David Zwirner and David Zwirner Books print ads. Organize and upkeep marketing materials in a designated binder.
  • Use physical and digital advertising archives to create a quarterly recap presentation for gallery advertising including competitor analysis.
  • Update client and gallery partners records, helping to prepare client or VIP mailings & mailing lists (Including influencer mailings) and RSVP list builds for public events (book signings, book and artist talks)
  • Assist the Marketing Assistant with file and accounting receipts, conduct artist and gallery comp research, gifting, and more.
  • Create monthly Marketing Exhibition guides as cross-party gallery resources for Front Desk teams

General Marketing Support

  • Regularly clean and update shared marketing resources (Marketing Programming Priorities, Exhibition Page / Visitor Tracking, Museum Show Tracker, Public Events Outreach, and QR code Tracker) to keep consistent information across all departmental teams.
  • Consolidate and track exhibition roundup reporting including digital marketing metrics, event/exhibition attendance, press highlights, and more
  • Complete long term projects including Competitor Analysis & Landscape– specific exhibition and gallery related-presentations including analysis on Marketing and Client Development goals to be included upon ideation.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with extended marketing departments like design, social media, digital marketing, and more based on interest
  • Support the Marketing Assistant, Marketing Manager, and Marketing Director with requests as needed

Event Support

  • Assist on-site with press previews, private and public events (including artist and curator talks, exhibition walkthroughs, book signings, cocktail parties, and more) by greeting and checking in guests. Assist with inputting the events list into Zkipster app. Occasional availability for events should be weekday evenings & weekend days.
  • Track RSVPs for public and semi-private events including talks, book signings, exhibition walkthroughs, and other gallery programming. Report RSVPs on a weekly basis to internal marketing team. Liaise with marketing team for appropriate responses to questions and inquiries for events.
  • Create a general public event invite list from on-going communications with frequent event attendees. Recognize and pull important names for a cohesive list for all public DZG event.
  • Assist with public and semi-private event preparation including creating face-charts for events visibility, contributing to run of shows, gifting, coordinating with facilities, front desk and other teams, set-up and more
  • Prepare materials for dinners and special events such as seating tabs, face charts, and seating maps – an opportunity to grow a nuanced understanding of the gallery’s relationships with key art world figures including artists, collectors, curators, critics and institutional contacts

Fall internship runs from approximately September 5 – December 15. Position hours are 10am – 6pm, 3-5 days per week. All interns are paid New York State minimum wage.
