The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) is a vibrant and inclusive community of around 150 members from 30 countries. Our main action lines are capacity building, networking and advocacy. We organise conferences, trainings and staff exchanges, participate in research, data gathering and formulation of policy recommendations, create tools and publications, and connect our members with other actors from the cultural sector and beyond. We are currently involved in various European projects – two Horizon Europe projects (IN SITU and HeritACT) and one Erasmus+ project (FULCRUM) – and we are always open to considering new partnership proposals. We are therefore looking for a dynamic and motivated intern to support the development of the above-mentioned projects, and in particular the HeritACT Horizon Europe project. The person will join our international team based in Brussels.

General information:

Location: Brussels, Belgium

The internship must take place in agreement with the University of the intern (e.g. curricular internships, Erasmus+ traineeship or any other official internship scheme provided by your University)

Duration: we are looking for someone who can work with us for a minimum of 3 months, ideally starting around 13 January 2025 *date to be confirmed with the selected candidate

Commitment: about 24 hours per week

Roles and responsibilities of the intern:

Assisting in the organisation of and participating in workshops and meetings;

Conducting desk research and assisting in drafting reports and articles;

Participating in European projects meeting;

Assisting in the creation of new partnerships and organisation of networking activities;

Contributing to the dissemination of information about our European projects;

Participating in conferences and networking events.

Additionally, the intern will be asked to attend staff meetings and to contribute to the implementation and development of other ENCC events and projects and ENCC Strategic Plan 2021-25, if needed.

Required background:

Study areas: cultural studies, cultural heritage, sustainability studies, cultural policy, or any other area of study related to the topics of the ENCC;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;

Very good analytical and organisational skills;

Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

Experience in assisting in the organisation of workshops is a plus; 

Reporting skills (in English) and experience in the socio-cultural or heritage sector are a plus.
