JOB OVERVIEW

The Goodman Gallery Group is looking for a creative, dynamic and technically minded Press and Digital Marketing Officer to join our fast paced, growing team in London.

The Goodman Gallery, a pre-eminent Gallery on the African continent, has spaces in London, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

As an integral member of the global Communications Team , the successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the Goodman Gallery across all communications, marketing and media platforms and to key opinion formers. 

The successful candidate will work as part of the Goodman Gallery international Communications Team responsible for the Gallery’s global reputation and brand including PR, marketing, social media and digital communications. The role includes devising and implementing a compelling communication strategy that measurably showcases the Gallery’s vision and invites and inspires a wide range of audiences to engage with art.

 Requirements

As the successful Press and Digital Marketing Comms Officer you will need:

  • experience in managing events and assisting with journalists, opinion formers and artists- remotely and in person
  • hands-on experience in digital content development and management (websites, social media, e-newsletters events and collateral) and experience working with CMS 
  • experience in data analytics and monthly reporting
  • experience in managing press requests under tight deadlines
  • exceptional English skills as well as above average copywriting, editing and proofreading skills
  • experience in sourcing imagery, working with photographers and videographers
  • experience in producing press packs
  • excellent relationship building and stakeholders management skills
  • experience in reactive press work in a busy press office, and the ability to consistently and accurately communicate complex ideas to art trades and broader media, ideally gained through working with museums in a PR capacity..
  • experience in (and the ability to) working well under pressure , working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines while maintaining a flexible, positive attitude.
  • experience in, and understanding of, use of diplomacy, displaying integrity and the importance of confidentiality,
  • experience in audience segmentation for E Newsletter campaigns driving insight and behavioral data including data collection and analysis
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write attention-grabbing press releases and social media copy that positively influences target audiences.
