JOB OVERVIEW

To support the Senior Production Manager in all event production management, as required, with specific responsibility for the coordination, management and implementation of all aspects of the production of Frieze Sponsors’ activations at all Frieze Fairs. This role involves working closely with Sponsors, contractors, third party companies and internal departments, coordinating everything that goes in to building and delivering successful activations for our Partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Production Manager in all production-related activities on the Fairs, as required
  • Coordinate all logistics relating to Sponsor activations at the Fairs (not including in-kind deliveries)
  • Travel overseas when required to do so for Fairs or events
  • Develop clear briefs, from Sponsors (clients) for designers and suppliers
  • Liaise with Partnerships re: new proposals and existing contracts
  • Collate information and hospitality packages, in close consultation with Senior Production Manager, for Partnerships teams to sell to sponsors as required
  • Sponsor Online Manual – update, manage and distribute
  • Sponsor timeline – manage all deadlines for information
  • Production schedules – as required
  • Research and utilise new suppliers for building sponsor spaces
  • Ensure sensitivity to existing Production relationships and schedules
  • Liaise with all fair departments, as required, managing to deadlines
  • Ensure H&S, CDM and fire regulations are correctly adhered to
  • Ensure all front of house, security, etc is managed smoothly as related to any lounge activations and events (on site)
  • Production ‘point of contact’ for all sponsors with a lounge activation at any fair
  • Provide efficient and effective troubleshooting during the event
  • Present evaluation/debrief report to Senior Production Manager post fair
  • Balance the creative and artistic requirements of the fair and the commercial realities of delivering the activations on time, within budget and ‘on brand’

The successful candidate should have considerable experience in event management, or a closely related field, and have held a position with independent responsibility for the management and delivery of several sizeable and well-known events for high-end clients. They will possess excellent client-facing skills, be deadline-driven and have strong attention to detail. They will be financially articulate and computer literate but at the same time be capable of seeing the bigger picture. They will be intuitive enough to be aware of the individual sensitivities of stakeholders and be able to diplomatically navigate the projects as such. They will be a perfectionist with a well-developed eye for quality design. They do not need to be an expert in contemporary art but they are very likely to have a love of the arts and an existing knowledge and experience of Frieze Art Fair.

Essential Experience:

  • Event / production management or similar
  • Client liason

Essential Competencies:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Desirable Experience & Competencies:

  • Experience working in the USA
  • Health & Safety qualification – in UK and/or US
  • Knowledge of exhibition/experiential production (outside of the art world)
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Clean Driving License

Working Conditions

  • This is a fixed term position.
  • This role will be based at Surrey Street, London.
  • Working hours are 10:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional travel and weekend work may be require
