Lindon & Co. is a private fine art dealership and advisory business in London with a focus on American Post-War and Contemporary masterworks. It is led by James Lindon & Alicia Norman-Butler.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the transportation, handling, installation, and management of artworks under the company’s purview. The candidate will be responsible for collection record keeping, condition reporting, inventory and general care of objects as well as assisting the directors in the preparation of offers, artwork research, preparing for art fairs, organisation of travel, office management and being the project manager for any presentation of small shows that are put on in the viewing room/gallery space etc. We are a very small team of two directors and a consultant and so are looking for someone to really own this role.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment be it a gallery, art advisory or auction house. Previous experience of working with ArtLogic is desired.
Keen interest and good knowledge of post-war and contemporary art.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as an independent self-starter.
Job Responsibilities
Registrar Responsibilities:
• Maintaining inventory in ArtLogic
• Providing all shipping & packing quotes for clients & directors, ensuring all export documents are saved & filed to
the database
• Managing the safety of artworks at the gallery & storage
• Being the main point of contact for the collection, delivery & storage of artworks
• Liaising with shippers, agents & freelance technicians
• Guiding the team on all customs issues/restrictions
• Overseeing & managing loan & consignment agreements
• Overseeing packing/unpacking, condition reporting, storage & installation of all artworks • Arranging insurance of artworks
• Ensuring all expenses are controlled, noted & reported to Director
Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Tracking expenses & managing budgets
• Being the main point of contact for all parties involved in any projects • Acting as the leader on any exhibitions that are put on
• Managing invites & RSVPs
• Booking vendors
