JOB OVERVIEW

Reports To: Associate

Line Manager: Director, Art Advisory

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Essential Qualities: Meticulous attention to detail; art historical background (up to MA or equivalent); fluency in complex excel tasks; fastidious proof-reader; clear communicator and writer.

Desirable Qualities: Two years’ experience in an auction house or commercial gallery; experience with inventory management software (ArtLogic); experience with InDesign.

Profile: The right candidate will be an energetic self-starter with a keen eye for detail. The role mixes fastidious, high stakes administration with a deeper intellectual engagement with the art market. There is great potential to grow within the company and learn a huge amount from a close knit, highly experienced team. The position is an entry level role as part of the Art Team (London) within a company of more than 50 personnel. Sitting at the heart of this established business, the Art Team provides the core expertise for every service offered by the company.

Key Tasks:
– Vital day-to-day support for senior colleagues in the team
– Internal database management liaising closely with Registrar
– Due diligence on offered artworks
– Creating detailed artist reports for clients
– Administrative support for the Art Team on Valuations enquiries
– Administrative support for the Art Team on Art Finance enquiries
– Schedule planning for each art market season and general diary management
– Tracking the evolution of cryptocurrency in the art market
– Management and analysis of third-party research and intelligence for internal reporting
– Art market and art historical research as necessary
– Administrative tasks as necessary
