Are you interested in contributing to the success of a renowned gallery based in Berlin? We

specialise in rare artworks of the 20th century and the representation of selected contemporary

artists. Galerie Bastian is looking for a full-time Sales Associate (5 days a week from Tuesday to

Saturday). Our gallery will serve as your base and you will also work on our exhibition stands at

international art fairs in Europe, the USA and Asia several times a year.

TASKS:

• Creating and sending purchase offers and sales previews to collectors, responding to

purchase enquiries, managing the gallery presence on Artsy

• Collaboration in the planning, design and installation of private showrooms and public

fair presentations (e.g. Art Basel Hong Kong, TEFAF Maastricht, The Armory Show

New York, Frieze Masters London)

• Preparation and participation in events such as Gallery Weekend Berlin

• You will prepare sales of artworks, handle them independently and also assist in the sale

of selected important works

PROFILE:

• Strong communication skills, empathy, joy in engaging in dialogue with prospective

buyers and providing personal advice on art purchases

• You have sold works of art both in a gallery and at art fairs and are familiar with the usual

processes from first contact to transport

• You have a very good command of German and English, another language such as

Mandarin, Spanish or French is an advantage, but not a requirement

• You have at least two years of experience in sales in a gallery for modern/contemporary

art, art trade or as an art advisor

• You have built a local and/or international client base that you would like to maintain

and grow with us

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

consignment holdings and inventory as well as from the studios of the represented artists

(e.g. Anselm Kiefer, Wim Wenders) and the estates/foundations (e.g. Nolde, Twombly)

• An attractive remuneration package (fixed salary combined with a sales commission) in a

permanent full-time position

• Short communication channels, close cooperation with gallery owner Aeneas Bastian
