1-54 Presents is a new initiative from 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair that looks at highlighting African art and its Diaspora through a series of curated shows. We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Sales Associate to coordinate in the planning, execution, and successful implementation of 1-54 Presents. The ideal candidate will be passionate about African art, culture, and have a deep appreciation for African art’s rich diversity and significance.

Main duties

We are seeking a passionate and driven Sales Associate to join our team. As Sales Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional client experience and contributing to the success of 1-54 Presents.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales
Art Knowledge
Oversee the preparation and delivery of Sales packets and dossiers.
Develop a deep understanding of the artworks on display and the artists represented, allowing you to provide in-depth information to potential buyers.

Client Engagement
Engage with potential clients and art enthusiasts, offering insights and information about the exhibited artworks and artists.
Actively send offers and previews for 1-54 Presents, work with 1-54 Presents Project Manager departments to obtain all relevant documentation.

• Sales Execution Assist clients in making art-related purchases, guiding them through the acquisition process with professionalism and expertise.
• Attend and organise 1-54 Presents – VIP events, ensuring they run smoothly and provide a memorable experience for attendees.
• During the exhibition, be present to greet guests and provide information about 1-54 Present.
  Oversee the organisation of social events such as cocktail, breakfast or talks
  
  

Post-Sales
Manage Post-sales follow up (i.e. payment and delivery); coordinate closely with Finance and with Registration team on shipping & logistics to ensure smooth communication between gallery and client, and prompt release of sold works.
Customer Satisfaction Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through attentive service and prompt follow-up.

Qualifications

• Sales Experience Proven experience in sales in the art industry
• Attention to Detail Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
  Communication Skills Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Multilingual Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Self-Motivated A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a drive to achieve and exceed targets.
• Art Enthusiast Demonstrable and active interest in art, design, and visual culture.
