We are seeking ambitious candidates who will bring their business ethics, strong work ethic, organizational skills, and deep knowledge of Asian Art to represent Heritage, preferably in our New York or Dallas offices.
SUMMARY: Main responsibilities include oversight of the Asian Art department and obtaining consignments of Asian art.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Source quality consignments from private collectors, estates, dealers, and retailers
- Supervise the vetting of condition and authenticate properties consigned
- Oversee or create and proofread catalog descriptions and marketing materials
- Market-specific consignments to valued clients
- Negotiate client terms
- Participate in the expansion of client database
- Review settlements and wires
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of experience in Asian Art preferably in a major auction house
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to multitask and pay great attention to detail
- Must have a positive attitude with exceptional customer service skills
- Public speaking talents are a plus!
