Gagosian seeks a full-time Social Media Editor to join the Social Media team.

Working under the Director of Digital Marketing, the Social Media Editor will create, plan, and edit content for the Gagosian social media channels. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day schedule and output on the gallery’s key social accounts.

The ideal candidate will have experience of, and enthusiasm for, social and digital platforms; excellent editing, copywriting, and content creation skills; understanding of best practices and trends across different channels; as well as an organized, collaborative and detail-orientated approach.

Responsibilities include but not limited to
– Working with the Director of Digital Marketing to manage the gallery’s social media schedule across all platforms
– Writing, editing, scheduling, and posting content to Gagosian’s social media platforms day-to-day, and ensuring others do so in adherence to the gallery’s style guide
– Editing and creating photographic, video, and graphic content using Adobe Creative Suite, including some basic photography and videography
– Liaising with staff, artist studios, and external organizations for approvals, including responding to time-sensitive requests
– Working to develop new content ideas and formats to promote gallery activities, as well as overseeing delivery
– Identifying key social media trends, new platforms, and opportunities for audience growth
– Undertaking community management across social platforms, including interacting with users, and responding to social media messages, inquiries, and comments
– Working on influencer previews and other social media events 

Qualifications for the role
– BA degree in Art History, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
– Minimum two year’s experience in a role editing or coordinating social media, or in digital publishing
– Excellent copywriting skills, with experience writing and editing copy for online uses
– Expertise in social media and up-to-date knowledge of the latest social media developments and trends
– Experience of using and developing strategies for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and YouTube
– Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and in particular Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop)
– Team player with high levels of self-initiative, drive and meticulous attention to detail
– Experience of using Facebook Ads Manager would be beneficial
