Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Media Executive to join our team. As a Social Media Executive, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing our social media strategy, creating engaging content, and managing various social media platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of social media platforms, advertising, and customer engagement, as well as exceptional copywriting and editing skills suitable for diverse platforms. A strong understanding of social media as a critical digital marketing channel within the wider digital ecosystem is crucial.

About Maddox: Since its foundation in 2015, Maddox Gallery has enjoyed significant growth, establishing a globally recognised and appreciated gallery network in London and Gstaad and creating a loyal following of high net worth art collectors throughout the world. An art advisory service operates alongside the gallery business, providing an unrivalled opportunity for clients to invest in emerging, established and blue chip artists.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

  • Work alongside in-house Content Producer to create and edit both long-form and short-form content for social media channels, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and more.
  • Create consistent, meaningful and engaging content for all social media platforms daily and manage scheduling.
  • Create ad hoc social media content at Maddox events which can be posted live.
  • Adapt and optimise content for each platform’s unique requirements and formats.
  • Write and create social media content for both our partners as well as other members of the wider business where needed.

Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and implement an over-arching social media strategy aligned with our brand and marketing objectives.
  • With Marketing Director and Digital Marketing Manager, develop, implement, and manage effective strategies for each social media platform including Instagram and TikTok. In addition to a LinkedIn strategy that positions Maddox Gallery and its teams’ as authorities in the art world to relevant professional communities.
  • Collaborate with the wider Marketing team to ensure consistency of messaging across all marketing channels and campaigns.
  • In-depth understanding of the narrative surrounding an artist and exhibition to implement a social media strategy and campaign that drives awareness, buzz and engagement for the full duration of the show.
  • Profile-building of Maddox Executives, Maddox Gallery and Maddox Art Advisory teams across relevant social media channels, and LinkedIn.
  • Grow our online community, engage with followers, and build relationships with art enthusiasts and potential clients.
  • Understanding of influencer landscape within the art world. Brings contacts to Maddox Gallery and fosters relationships for the brand.
  • Understanding lead gen tactics through the use of social media content.

Channel Management:

  • Responsible for community management across paid media and organic.
  • Oversees paid social alongside Digital Marketing Manager and media agency.
  • Communicate with social media followers and respond to queries in a timely manner.
  • Handle social media crises and negative feedback effectively with timely and appropriate responses.


  • Utilise analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Later, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate our social media presence and performance.
  • Utilise knowledge of algorithms and search engine optimization to enhance our online presence.
  • Present monthly analysis and recommendations to the Senior Management team.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Passion for contemporary art and a strong understanding of social media management and strategy.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly refined organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong creative eye.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Creative Field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a social media role required.
  • Previous experience in the art world is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of luxury and culture.
  • Experience with a variety of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Proven track record of delivering KPI-driven results.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite and Canva.
