ARTISTS RESPONDING TO… creates artist-led projects, which has included publishing Zines, a Book and curating art exhibitions, approaching paramount news and world happenings through the eyes of artists, creatives and writers.

After a successful year of publishing 11 fine art and literature Zines responding to environmental, political and social issues, ARTISTS RESPONDING TO… will be launching a Magazine in January 2022!

Our Magazine will be a digital and printed publication which uses creative depictions and literature to highlight current world issues, news and movements that aren’t getting the attention that they deserve. A political and environmental platform to help ignite conversations and spread awareness through visual and written poetic responses.

As a not-for-profit passion project, it has been our mission to create opportunities for our ever-growing community throughout the pandemic, and we hope to continue to empower the voices of our creatives on a much bigger scale, the Magazine.

We are looking for an Art Critic or writer to contribute to our quarterly Magazine in the form of an artwork or exhibition review, or a short critique essay that reflects on an artwork or artist with activism at the heart of their practice.

There is the opportunity to contribute to each Issue of the Magazine as a more permanent role, or you can submit a piece to a particular Issue of the publication. We will also accept articles on current news and world happenings.

As Issue 1 of the Magazine will be published in January 2022, we are currently looking for articles that will be current in the winter quarter publication, so this might mean a review on an exhibition that will still be available to view for at least the month of January.

We are quite flexible with the word limit, but would recommend around 2 A4 pages as a maximum.

The deadline to contribute to Issue 1 is 1st December 2020, 23:59, so please send your written submission by this deadline to [email protected]

If you have any questions about the opportunity, please email us or contact us through our social media channels @artistsrespondingto before this date.

As a not-for-profit initiative, this is an un-paid opportunity. Our Magazine will be a fantastic opportunity to get your work published and accessible to a diverse, international and passionate audience.
