KAWS giant inflated HOLIDAY sculpture was installed on the sands of Virginia Beach to mark the final day of Pharrell Williams’s April 2019 Something in the Water festival.
Having already made trips to Taipei and Seoul, HOLIDAY has had many “holidays” around the world, most recently spotted floating in Hong Kong during Art Basel. Pharrell even visited KAWS in Hong Kong, which is probably where he asked the artist to make a trip to his Virginia music festival. Who knows where KAWS will pop up next!?
The US-based festival also presented Jay-Z, Virgil Abloh and Travis Scott, as well as talks, film screenings and even a pop-up church service, with HOLIDAY making a huge splash by making it’s larger than life presence unavoidable on the beach.
