As ArtNet asks: Is Body Modification the Future of Fashion? The answer is: maybe.
The celebrity PR guru Simon Huck has created an alternate high-end reality in a new exhibition in New York that combines art and alien-like features.
The new show, called A Human, has performance artists with prosthetics, sitting still for gallery-goers.
With makeup by designer Nicola Formichetti and makeup artist Isamaya French, the exhibition has been promoted on social by his friends, Kim Kardashian, who wears a skin-colored choker that blinks to the beat of her heartbeat, and Chrissy Teigen, who wears angel wings on her chest.
“I’ve always loved science fiction, especially stories that don’t feel dark or dystopian,” Huck told artnet News. “Our aim was to present these modifications in a way that felt inviting, fashionable, and rooted in self expression.”
