With Porsche inaugurating the first exhibition of their newly launched art and design initiative The Art of Dreams, we went ahead and asked some of the most stellar Paris based creatives about their dreams for the art world of the future and beyond. And these are the beautiful answers we got:
Charlotte Ketabi-Lebard @chalebard
Your favourite place to dream away?
My favorite place to dream away is in the Musée du Louvre in Paris.
I love to get lost between the different eras, roam around between thousands of artworks and forget about everything. It reminds me why I do my job
Sarah Andelman @sarahandelman
Your favourite place to dream away?
PARIS, Paris streets, Paris gardens like the Palais Royal, Paris along the Seine, Paris galleries, Paris museums, Paris bakeries, etc…
Marie-Odile @imagine_moi
What is your dream for the future of the art world?
More inclusion !
Every gallery should have affordable pieces so anyone can actually buy art. Next thing is to stop bashing NFT art collectors and artists – it’s part of the market now, get over it.
Last but not last: put a limit to the number of Picasso exhibitions per year…there are so many other artists!
Tatiana Gecmen Waldeck @tatianagwaldeck
How do you remind yourself to follow your dreams?
I believe that my dreams follow me.
I set an intention or more and I trust the universe
Some just happen in the most fluid and simple way, it’s a pure dream!
Pascaline Smets @pascalinesmets
Your favourite place to dream away?
Immersive installations ideally when you are alone, like the James Turrell skyspace at Moma PS1.
Or wide landscapes with no persons, where you feel the emptiness…
Melanie Huynh Utzmann @melaniehuynh1
What is your dream for the future of the art world?
My dream for the art world of the future is to give access to art from anywhere to anybody.
Art has such a great power on feeling, seeing and understanding the world through it.
Alexandra Fain, Director Asia Now @alexandrafain_asianow
Your favorite place to dream away?
With continuous lockdowns all over the world and being prohibited to travel to our dream locations, our minds have indulged to constantly daydream. While there is still so many places I desire to visit physically, the island of Naoshima is by far the place where I tend to wonder, where art is integrated into nature and the life of the island itself. Starting the journey from the shores of Takamatsu and reaching the island by boat, we enter Kusama’s radiant energy by perceiving at first the Red Pumpkin followed by the brilliant architecture of Sou Fujimoto, the Lee Ufan Museum and the Naoshima Pavilion. The spirit and force of the island is, I believe, what all place of wonders should feel like.
About The Art of Dreams:
Porsche is shining a spotlight on art: the sports car manufacturer is offering artists new channels to showcase their work to a wider audience through The Art of Dreams. Designed as a series of interactive art installations in cities, The Art of Dreams features work that deals with the topic of dreams from different perspectives. The exhibition will begin with a piece by French artist Cyril Lancelin called ‘Remember your dreams’; an oversized installation that will be on display at the Palais Galliera Musée de la mode de la Ville de Paris from 15 to 24 October.
